Penglai Shenao Bioscientific Research Institute is an established business focusing on researching and producing health food and functional food products. Since our founding in 2001, we have been striving to build a vertically integrated business in the sea cucumber industry, and concentrating on advancing sea cucumber processing with modern food technologies. We provide high-quality and differentiating products to approval holders, brand owners, distributers and other customers through OEM and ODM arrangements. 

We are capable of producing diverse dosage forms. Leveraging our strengths in R&D and manufacturing, we offer competitive products in three core product groups:

Health food products: enduring classics + continuous innovations. Our health food products have join enjoyed long-lasting sales success in China. Among them, our blood-sugar lowering capsules have also helped our overseas customers in Israel, Ukraine and Romania improve their health. We continue to invest resources in developing and applying for new health food approvals, striving to provide more choices to our customers.

Functional food products: proprietary processing + diverse dosage forms. Our functional food products are mainly developed by leveraging our proprietary sea cucumber odor-reduction processing technology. While minimizing nutritional loss during processing, this technology greatly reduces the unique smell and taste of sea cucumbers. Our products encompass a wide range of dosage forms, including tablets, freeze-dried powder, solid drinks and liquid drinks. In 2016, we obtained the first export license for our ready-to-eat sea cucumber powder and tablets. In addition, we continue to develop and formulate products using globally sourced functional ingredients. We place a particular focus on ingredients that carry solid research data and produce tangible results in health improvements.

Culinary food products: cultural significance + easy-to-prepare. Food products not only provide nutrition, but also embody cultural significance and culinary heritage. We thus introduced our ready-to-eat sea cucumber products in 2024. Consumers can skip the days-long preparation work necessary to rehydrate dried sea cucumbers, and present sea cucumber dishes on the table in a matter of minutes.
